Roots Birth & Women’s Health

Kathy Crowley-Haywood

Kathy Crowley-Haywood

Kathy came to Missoula in 1993 from Massachusetts, originally attending the University of Montana and graduating with a wildlife biology degree. During her first pregnancy she found a new passion in all things pregnancy, birth, and lactation, prompting her to earn her nursing degree in 2012. Shortly after, in 2013, she found her professional home at the Birth Center in Missoula, where she worked as an RN and lactation counselor. A trip to a Birth Center in Haiti inspired her to further her education and become a midwife. She graduated from Frontier Nursing University with her CNM, MSN in 2021. She continued to work at the Birth Center as a CNM until its closure in July 2024. She has also worked in public health, camp nursing, home health, and geriatric nursing. Kathy believes that relationships are foundational to providing optimal care and strives to create them with each of her clients.

Kathy has worked collaboratively with the Roots team and Dr. Fausett for many years and looks forward to joining the team, meeting new clients, and seeing old friends in her new environment. Her professional passions beyond perinatal care include education, lactation, women’s health including respectful pelvic care, nutrition and food security, and public health.

Still in love with Montana, in her free time she can usually be found on the rivers, trails, or ski slopes with her family which includes her husband, two sons, and two dogs.
