Roots Birth & Women’s Health
Stephanie Lighter
Stephanie Lighter, CNM/WHNP
Stephanie graduated from Georgetown University with a dual master’s degree to become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). While attending school, she was a labor & delivery nurse at Community Medical Center where she has supported women through birth experiences that are uniquely and powerfully theirs. Prior to nursing, she received two bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology at the University of Maryland and worked in psychocultural and neurodevelopment research labs. She has also lived in New Delhi, India as a Fulbright scholar and is committed to supporting the advancement of women’s health throughout the country. As a CNM and WHNP at Roots, Stephanie is passionate about mental health and contraception accessibility in addition to childbirth care.
Stephanie moved to Missoula from Baltimore, MD in 2018 and has never looked back. Outside of work, you can find her running on the endless trails Missoula has to offer, attempting to ski, and reading by the Clark Fork river.
